Terms
and Conditions
Please read this
carefully. By accessing this web site or any section thereof ('the site')
you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
Definitions
Reference to the singular implies the plural and vice versa.
A term such as 'donor' or supporter' implies both individual and organisational
personality (such as a trust or church).
Intercontinental Church Society ('ICS') has subsidiary organisations
to whom all terms, conditions and disclaimers on this site apply equally.
Use
of the site
All material on the site ('the content') belongs to ICS. See also Copyright
You may retrieve
and display the content on a computer screen or mobile phone, print
individual pages on paper and store such pages in electronic form or
on disk or other storage device (unless connected to a network) or on
your mobile telephone for your personal, non-commercial use.
Except as expressly
set out above, you may not reproduce, modify store or archive in any
way commercially exploit any of the content. In particular, but without
limiting the general application of above restrictions, you may not
do any of the following (or allow a third party to do the same) without
prior written permission of ICS:
- Retrieve by
any means and/or redistribute any of the content (including by using
it in any library, archive, directory or similar service)
- Create a database
in electronic or structured manual form by systematically downloading
any or all of the content
Linking
If you would like to link to the site or any area of it, please read
and comply with the following guidelines and all applicable laws. A
site or service that links to the site
- may not remove,
distort or otherwise alter the size or appearance of the ICS logo;
- must not in
any way imply that ICS is endorsing it;
- must not misrepresent
its relationship with ICS or present false information about ICS;
- must not be
a site or service that infringes any intellectual property or other
right of ICS or any person or that otherwise does not comply with
all relevant laws and regulations;
- must not be
a site or service that contains content that could be construed as
distasteful or offensive; and/or
- must not be
a site (if purporting to be Christian) whose content, tone or theological
position is inconsistent with the historic, orthodox Christian faith
as traditionally understood and/or be materially at variance with
ICS's Basis of Faith.
ICS expressly reserves
the right to require that any link in breach of any of these terms and
conditions be removed and to take whatever other action it deems appropriate.
Donation
policy
Gifts for specific objectives or projects: if a donor requires the ICS
to apply a donation for specific objectives or projects (whether in
response to a specific appeal or otherwise) and the amount(s) received
exceed(s) the sum(s) necessary to fund these objectives or projects,
or if it is not possible or appropriate for any reason to fulfil or
proceed with the stated objectives or projects, ICS will use the excess
or all of the donation(s) received for its general charitable objects.
For legal and accounting reasons, ICS regrets that it cannot accept
donations on any other basis.
Data
protection
Data about individuals and organisations that ICS is in contact with
may be held in its databases for the purposes of pursuing its objects.
ICS does not pass mailing lists to unconnected third parties. ICS normally
send all donors and other supporters its quarterly magazine and prayer
diary by post. If you do not wish to receive this, please let us know
by contacting support@ics-uk.org.
Similarly, if you purchase ICS's Directory of English-speaking Churches
Abroad or similar publication ICS will retain your details and may
contact you (unless you specifically request that ICS does not) to tell
you when a subsequent edition is published.
If you contact
us via the site ICS may use information such as your e-mail address
to update its records, but does not send correspondents regular mailings
without their permission. It is possible that, given the nature of its
work, information that you provide to such as in a job application or
an enquiry about a chaplaincy may be sent outside the European Economic
Area.
ICS does not knowingly
collect personally identifiable information about you from the site
other than that which you deliberately submit.
Liability
Except as defined in law, ICS accepts no liability to any user of the
site or any third party for any loss or injury occasioned by reliance
on information contained in the site, or on any other site to which
the site may carry a link or refer directly or indirectly. Whilst ICS
has made every effort to check the information on sites to which there
are links, ICS has relied on their providing information in good faith.
ICS aims to link to sites that only list churches in the historic Christian
traditions. Naturally ICS cannot check all links on their sites, or
be responsible for the accuracy of information they provide.
Any reference to
the laws of the UK or any of its constituent or any other jurisdictions
are only brief and general statements of the law and are no substitute
for advice from appropriately qualified and experienced professional
advisers in the relevant jurisdiction, or the regulatory body concerned.
The views expressed by contributors to the site (or to linked sites)
are not necessarily those of ICS.
Law
and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance
with, English law. To the extent possible in the applicable jurisdiction,
the parties irrevocably agree that the courts of England shall (subject
to the paragraph below) have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute
which may arise out of, under, or in connection with these terms and
conditions, and for those purposes irrevocably submit all disputes to
the jurisdiction of the English courts.
For the exclusive
benefit of ICS and to the extent possible in the applicable jurisdiction,
ICS shall retain the right to bring proceedings as to the substance
of the matter in the courts of the country of your residence or, where
these terms and conditions are entered into in the course of your trade
or profession, the country of the place of business in which you agreed
to these terms and conditions or (if different) the country of your
principal place of business.
