St. Peter's 140th Anniversary
Click here for a copy of the
140th anniversary brochure which includes a brief history of this historic
church and information about the 140th Anniversary appeal for £70,000
Another
way you can support the ministry here is through buying and giving cards
featuring the church from our Christmas catalogue.
If the
ministry in Zermatt has touched your life, please consider giving generously
to enable us to strengthen the ministry, keep the building in good repair, and
spread the good news to future generations.
Many
thanks
If you would like to give to the 140th anniversary appeal (which
will be used to help fund the current and future ministry and maintain
and improve the buildings - maintaining a chapel in the Swiss mountain
climate is an expensive business and ICS's work is funded entirely
by donations) you may use the form in the leaflet, call us, or make
a donation online where you
may also order a copy of A Church in the Alps. Your support
will help us maintain this important historic building, and enable
outreach to future generations of visitors and local English-speaking
residents: donations should be made payable to 'Intercontinental
Church Society'. Call us on 024 7646 3940 (+44 24 7646 3940
from abroad) if you would like any more information.
Supporting
ICS’s outreach in Zermatt
If you would
like to support our work at the famous ‘English Church’, you can
become a Friend of St Peter’s (Zermatt) online.
Your support will help us maintain this important historic building,
and enable the outreach. We will send you information about ICS’s
work regularly, and news of the work in Zermatt.
Alpine
Club of Great Britain: 150th anniversary service in St. Peter’s,
Zermatt
ICS was delighted to organise this special
service for the Club on Sunday 24 June 2007, many of whose past
members have worshipped at the Church whilst in Zermatt. Some too
are buried there, as several gravestones and plaques mark. The church
too has an historic link with the climbing fraternity – one of Edward’s
Whymper’s climbing party (Charles Hudson) who died on the descent
after the successful British ascent is buried under the communion
table. For
