Will you help us equip this important church
for its future ministry?
Securing the ministry of St. Mary's Rotterdam, Netherlands (Anglican
ministry began in 1708; built 1913; project cost €47,880 plus
legal fees of €5,000)
St. Mary's is a lively Christian community, serving a variety of
nationalities including many Dutch, who choose to worship in English;
the chaplain is also the Mission to Seafarers' port chaplain and
the church and adjacent hall is used for a wide range of cultural,
Christian and social events. The church celebrated its 300th anniversary
last year, and Queen Beatrix attended the tercentenary service.
The church has applied for monument status, which is under active
consideration. It was built by ICS in 1913 on land leased for 100
years from the City; the lease expires in 2013 and the City has
offered ICS a new 'perpetual' (open-ended) lease, without ground
rent. The new lease will secure the church's ministry in this location.
The church is contributing €17,715 and we are seeking assistance
to help us meet the balance of €30,164/£26,649 plus
legal fees of €5,000/£4,395.
Your gift would
be a great encouragement: just send in your donation made out to
'Intercontinental Church Society' and in a covering note express
the wish that ICS uses your gift towards the building project at
this church, or call us with your credit or debit card to hand.
You can also donate online
- just select for example 'Rotterdam - St Mary's - building project'
from the drop down menu -
but transaction fees will be deducted from your gift so it is usually
more cost-efficient to call us to make a credit card donation. Please
also consider making an additional gift to ICS's general fund for
the benefit of our wider work.
If you have found this web site helpful please make
a donation to help us maintain the site and spread the good
news of Jesus Christ. We depend solely on donations from individuals,
churches and trusts to make our work possible. Thank you.
