Latest Society news Zermatt Music Festival The Revd Roger Scoones is the ICS Resort Chaplain in Zermatt, this September. Having recently arrived, he has already welcomed a group of 49+ tourists from North Austria to whom he spoke in his broken German, a group of four French from Calais, whom he spoke to in his better French, and a lady from Wyoming, an Alpinist, who has just returned from a nine-day hike in the Bernese Oberland. She’s been coming to Zermatt for 29 years! The Zermatt Music Festival and Academy is taking place this week and next (1-12 September). During a special church service on Sunday morning, and as a part of the festival, the French early music vocal trio 'La Chapelle des Ducs de Savoie' came and sung early English music in the service, the Creed etc. They then also played the organ and sang during Communion, impromptu. A really great service, with beautiful music, and with a very good turn-out - probably around fifty people in all.
