Also, for good contacts as we participate in various ‘welcome’ events from schools etc.

St. Clement’s, Prague: Eleven people participated in the church retreat held in the Czech countryside from 5-7 July. It was a wonderfully nourishing time both spiritually and physically.

Give thanks for the Seasonal Mission Chaplains, Kelvin and Jean Woolmer, who were here until 31 July with Herrick and Judy Daniel taking over until 14 August. We thank the Lord for all his provision and pray that we clearly hear the Spirit’s leading for God’s kingdom here. We pray for our summer visitors that they may be truly blessed and refreshed in body and spirit. Thanks for the Christian speakers at Tuesday coffee mornings. In August the church is closed for weekday activities and we pray for the workers to be strengthened during the break. Also, praying for our younger people to connect in fellowship as the Holy Spirit guides them.

Aquitaine: Prayers for plans and preparations for the September Women's Retreat, and for those considering attending, may they feel strengthened in responding to God's call.

Also, pray for our new CEMES intern to join us in September, and for his predecessor, Julius, due to start at theological college this autumn. We also need more volunteers, for children’s activities on Sundays. Finally, pray for successful planning for the Forum Chretien Francophone to be held in Lyon in October and for people to attend.

St. Michael’s, Paris: Thanks for church unity in agreeing to tackle a major building project, and for an agreed sense of priorities. Pray that as we move forward, God builds that sense of unity with everyone involved.

St. Mark’s, Versailles: Give thanks for the Licensing of Dale Hanson as Chaplain, please pray for him and Pat as they get to know the people of St. Mark's and St. Paul's and the context of Versailles. Pray for planning of the future preaching programme and our approach to a deficit in church finances. Also, for the strengthening of married life in the church and community, many marriages are under stress. Pray for ‘Operation Stephen’ which provides a cooked breakfast and fellowship for the homeless every Saturday morning. This continues throughout August while many other provisions close for the month.

All Saints Cathedral, Cairo: Pray for those filling in at the English-speaking services while Kerry and Cynthia are away. For a time of rest and that they will gain wisdom and clarity for the upcoming autumn and winter schedule. Also, for the Spirit to lead new arrivals to Cairo, where to worship and serve.

ICS Family News

We are sad to announce that Roy Farrar died on 23 July at the age of 79. He had recently been diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease, but his sudden death was unexpected. The church in Neuchâtel is deeply saddened by the loss of their former pastor and dear friend, but grateful to God for sparing him from further suffering. Giving thanks for Roy's ministry in Neuchâtel and the way he touched many people’s lives in so many ways and in so many places. Please join all in prayer, especially remembering his widow Mieke and the rest of the family. A Service of Thanksgiving was held at All Saints Church, Vevey on 27 July and there will be a Memorial Service in Neuchâtel.
