If you’ve been inspired by what you’ve read over the last few days and are wondering what you can do, there are many ways that we can take on the mission to feed the hungry both globally and locally.

Food Banks

Many churches, local organisations and even some supermarkets will have food banks. If you find yourself in a position where you are able to purchase some additional food on top of your usual shop why not donate it to a local food bank to help feed those in need. It’s something that even children can get involved in, a seven year old child from my church asked his friends to bring donations to our food store instead of gifts for his birthday party this year.

Volunteer

Donate your time to organisations helping combat food poverty, maybe help out at a food bank or a project similar to the community kitchen. Showing people love is the first step to helping sometimes.

Charities

There are many charities operating both locally and globally to try to end world hunger. Have a look online and see what each of them stand for to find one that might be a good fit for you.

If you are already involved in this kind of ministry we’d also love to hear about how and why you choose to serve in this way.
