People ask me what Brexit has meant for ICS. I have held off saying anything as we needed the dust to settle before the impact was apparent. In this, first of three blogs, I am going to look at some of the impacts for us.

The first and most obvious impact of Brexit was that our mailing house sent the usual packages of newsletters to churches across Europe, many of these were impounded and either returned to us for further paperwork to be added and then resent, hence doubling the cost or annoyingly held and the recipient has to pay additional charges.

What was once a simple thing of sending ten newsletters becomes a task that we now need to pick up with our mailing house to make sure the correct paperwork is sent.

It is not the end of the world; it is just one of those things we are not aware of and are now slightly embarrassed about as the people who bear the implications are the chaplains who would normally receive the newsletters. What we have learnt is we need to better brief our mailing house, take a bit more care and apologise profusely!
