Stewarding Our Money - Day Two Today we'll be looking at “La Solidarité” which was set up by Christ Church Lille. Christ Church Lille set up the charitable association “La Solidarité” for outreach. Under tax and accounting rules, as a religious organisation the church can’t give donations directly. 10% of the income they receive goes to help various different charities. These include Médecins sans Frontières, ABEJ (a charity working with homelessness), and Les Petits Frères des Pauvres. Every year the committee asks for proposals and these are discussed at a special grants meeting. Everyone who is on the electoral roll of Christ Church Lille is a member of the association and can make proposals or vote at the Annual General Meeting. You can read more about the different charities that they support in the minutes from their most recent AGM here. Manage Cookie Preferences
