Our work Supporting mission Conferences Conferences Every spring, ICS organises the Chaplains and Families' Conference which takes place either in the UK or mainland Europe. This is a joy-filled week where chaplains from all over Europe, the Middle East and occasionally further afield gather to celebrate, pray, agonise and learn together. ICS is able to draw exceptional bible teachers and speakers to be part of the programme. In 2020, due to COVID-19 the conference had to be cancelled but this did not deter us. Our bible teacher, Simon Ponsonby and the planning team put together a magazine style programme, that ran every morning and was well received. Following on from that we ran workshops for three months. This gave us the opportunity to draw in specialists to address issues that are challenging and present to all of us. We covered issues such as 'Mental health', 'How to lead at a time like this', 'Using Alpha online', 'Where is the church going through COVID?' and 'How do we respond to the Black Lives Matter agenda and how can we learn from it?'. These have been great moments of fellowship, sharing and growth. In 2021, the ICS Conference will take place in Beatenberg, Switzerland from 19–23 April with the theme: 'Re-viewing Normal, Resilience, Rebounding and Refreshing'. We are delighted that the Rt Revd Andrew Watson, the Bishop of Guildford, will be our bible teacher and that the Revd Alison Hogger, a mental health specialist, will be leading workshops. Our hope is that this will be a conference where people can be refreshed, laugh and once again enjoy face-to-face fellowship. Help a chaplain and family attend the conference. Donate Now Thank you!
