People & places Egypt and North Africa Egypt Maadi Welcome to the Church of St. John the Baptist! You are invited to join us for reverent worship in an air-conditioned sanctuary. Since 1931, the Church of St. John the Baptist (a.k.a. St. John’s Church) has served the community of Ma'adi in southern Cairo, Egypt, as a place for worship and solace. The church is one of the oldest buildings in Ma'adi, and our international congregation welcomes all traditions. Worship at St. John’s follows an Anglican/Episcopal tradition, which places focus on word and sacrament. As we gather for weekly worship and serve our community, our desire is to encounter together the living God, enabling us to live as God’s people in God’s world. We believe newcomers will find St. John’s a very welcoming, encouraging, engaging, stimulating and supportive community! Our Chaplain is the Revd Dr Michael Dobson, he is married to Janet and they have a son and daughter. St. John's is an ICS Ministry Partner. Please look on our website for more information.
