Some comments from our Short-term Mission chaplains:

The number of people who came to Christmas service, especially the Lessons and Carols, with people sitting on the carpet and in the central aisle as there was nowhere else to sit.

Just about to lock the church and leave when a young woman came in, sat down and started reading one of our bibles. She was on holiday from Milan, is Russian and came to faith a month previously. I had the privilege of leading her in a prayer of commitment. Clearly wide open to faith she asked me lots of questions, I gave her a copy of Mark’s gospel and a ‘Journey to Life’ in Russian. I encouraged her to find a church in Milan as its not possible to keep faith without a church.

Another chaplain told how two evening service visitors came only because they heard the bell. ‘Keep ringing that bell!’ they urged. Our beautiful church draws many, and we seek to help them look beyond the building to discover Christ’s love. This includes ongoing repairs to ensure the church remains a welcoming place of prayer.

ICS is poised for a strong future and Isaiah 54:2 encourages us to grow, stretch, to not hold back; this is our passion as we enter the next season.

My prayer is that this new chapter begins with strength and momentum—not hindered by financial constraints. So today, would you consider making a gift to ICS? Whether it’s £1,000, £500, £50, or any amount that feels right to you, your generosity directly supports the ministry and mission of ICS.

Even more, could you consider starting a regular monthly gift? Standing orders provide vital stability as we plan and grow. If you already give regularly, might this be a moment to increase your support?

We remain dependent on God’s provision—and so often, that provision comes through people like you. Your partnership, prayers, and generosity are essential to us.

Thank you for journeying with ICS. Thank you for helping us make Jesus known.

With deep gratitude and every blessing,

The Revd Canon Richard Bromley
ICS Mission Director
