200 years in Bordeaux

After a blessed Chaplaincy Day in June when the entire Aquitaine chaplaincy gathered to celebrate the 200th anniversary together, we held a second celebration in Bordeaux to mark where the whole story started. We enjoyed a full day of fellowship and giving glory to our Lord Jesus Christ who has faithfully nourished the English-speaking community in Bordeaux over two decades.

A morning Family Communion service in a packed church was led by our Chaplain Revd John Bavington with people of many nationalities, ages, and church backgrounds united in glorious worship and praise to our Saviour.  We enjoyed a shared lunch with dishes from several continents, where friends exchanged stories about the old days, and our very dedicated and inspiring young people lit up the room with their smiles; God was amongst us.
During the afternoon Praise and Testimony Service, those who chose songs which were meaningful to them were invited to explain why. Young and old(er) gave testimonies of their faith and their aspirations for the Church of the future. We even had the surprise pleasure of a live rendition of « We have overcome » in Fijian and English, sung by the Fijian community!

The entire day was nothing short of AMAZING. Everyone left feeling blessed to be part of the new mission in Bordeaux, thanks to the grace that God has bestowed upon us.
