Appointment Announcement: The Revd Tim Wright

We are pleased to announce that The Revd Tim Wright has been appointed as the new Recruitment and Short-Term Mission Manager for the Intercontinental Church Society (ICS).  Tim brings with him a wealth of experience in both ministry and his long-standing involvement with ICS.

Tim’s previous roles include serving as Deputy Chaplain-in-Chief with the Royal Air Force, Dean of Kildare, and working with the Soldiers’ and Aviators' Scripture Readers Association (SASRA). These roles included the recruitment of chaplains, full time Christian workers and civil servants as well as the leadership of dispersed clergy teams. He has ministered in English-speaking churches in Germany, the Netherlands and Cyprus. Within ICS, Tim has served faithfully on the Council for nine years, has been a dedicated Short-term Mission volunteer, and has regularly supported our recruitment and interview processes.

Tim shared his thoughts on the new role. ‘I am honoured to be joining the ICS team in this new capacity as it continues to help people find Jesus'. Having been involved with ICS for many years—as a Council member, a Short-Term Mission volunteer, and through recruitment—I’ve seen firsthand the impact of its ministry. I’m excited to support and encourage those exploring their calling, and to help strengthen the mission of ICS across diverse contexts.’

Richard Bromley, ICS Mission Director, commented, 'I can think of no one better suited to bridge these two roles while continuing to nurture our vital relationships with the churches in Ireland. Over the years, I’ve learned a great deal from Tim. His depth of experience and broad understanding of the complexities of international ministry give me full confidence that, under God, he is the right person for this moment.'

Tim will officially take up his position on 1 October, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming him as a valuable member of the ICS team.
