Interlaken is now closed

ICS has been involved in Short-term Mission in Interlaken since 1844. Therefore, it is with regret that we have taken the difficult decision that this summer was our last season there.

This decision is driven by some key factors: changes in visitors’ profile and practices, often spending less time in the resort, increased scrutiny by the tourist office of their use of public money, the cost of accommodation, and ICS’s desire to make better use of our limited resources and look for new opportunities. We are so grateful for the commitment of our chaplains, to the Swiss church authorities for their ecumenical partnership in allowing us to worship in their buildings, and to the tourist office.
